Great evening with Blue Flags & Black Grass at the shop! Blue Flags & Black Grass is a combination of many flavors of acoustic American Roots Music. With the instrumentation of Banjo, Res-o-phonic Guitar, Fiddle, Washboard, Kazoo and Upright Bass, Blue Flags emulates the String Bands of the 1920s and ‘30s. Their typical gig will blend Ragtime, Viper Jazz, Country Blues, Old-Time, Jug Band and Bluegrass. As well as performing classic standards and dusting off hidden gems, Blue Flags also features original songs by Flip ‘Fats’ McGuire.

Our friend and hero Howe Gelb @howegelb of Tucson AZ stopped in while on tour to be our first of many “Barbershop Sessions”. We are still building out the space and yet to open the doors yet boy did he kick this off right with such a beautiful tune. Howe has been creating music under his own name as well as Giant Sand for 30 plus years…capturing the essence of his home landscape and always pushing to find sonic gold. Pick up his latest album “Future Standards” and you will be glad you did.Thank you Howe for always being an inspiration.

We will be hosting touring and local artists in the shop to capture their work on film. Please stay tuned and subscribe to our channel for more soon. Photos by @jasonshilohmoore and thanks to @lexluthier for the quality sound and gear.
